Carnival

I have decided to try and be more pro-active with my artwork. So here is my piece for the 9X5 exhibition, run every year, by Illustrators Australia. Carnival is the the theme, and nothing says carnival more than the age old masks of Tragedy and Comedy. They are the Yin and the Yang. The Red Nose Vs The White Face. An eternal struggle between order and chaos, for what is fun without the prospect of a little danger?

For some reason big noses are a common feature.

I think we all know why :P

Tip No: 473

Here is a good idea if you aren't very good at something. Do it as badly as possible. At least that way you'll be different enough to be interesting :D

Man Fights Bear Who Fights Hunger

It seems so me that I have done one too many of these. Hanna Barbarbarabahbah have an interesting unique style, and instead of just trying to do my version of these guys, got caught up and tried to make them representative. Which failed, because I kept trying not to. Odd.

Glove Swirl

A simple little exercise. I love drawing hands. Expressive and full of motion. I have always liked the old cartoons where gloves come to life and walk or dance.

Well, it sure has been a while since I posted anything new. So I figured I would! :D

Finally I have gotten around to completing the Obake Dave character set. All five characters are together at last. I have sat on these last two for a while, and they aren't looking too good for having had the experience :P
